Opticom's .mp3 Producer Professional is a full featured mp3 encoder for professional studio applications. It offers the well known original Fraunhofer reference quality. The "Professional" package comes with an mp3 decoder that will be installed to the Windows Audio Codec Manager (ACM). It will extend the Windows operating system to play back mp3 sounds.

The "Professional" Producer offers additional MPEG-1 modes at 192, and 256kbit/s, corresponding to a lower compression ratio of 7.4, and 5.5 respectively.
