Roland VS-1680

The VS-1680 Digital Studio Workstation represents the new definition of recording power: a 16-track, 24-bit recording, editing, mixing and effects processing system in a compact table-top workstation.

The VX-1680 provides 16 tracks of hard disk audio recording with 256 "Virtual" tracks (16 tracks x 16 V-tracks) to freely record different ideas and arrangements. The VS-1680 offers 24-bit MT Pro Recording Mode for massive headroom and dynamic range, 26 channels of fully automated digital mixing, and 20-bit A/D, D/A converters for pristine sound. Using the optional CD recorder, the VS-1680 gives you everything you need to produce CDs in a compact, powerful tabletop workstation.

Alesis ADAT-XT20

The ADAT-XT20™ provides an amazing new standard in audio quality for professional multitrack recording while remaining completely compatible with the huge foundation of over 110,000 ADATs in use worldwide. Using ADAT Type II, the only modular digital multitrack recording format that writes 20 bits to tape, the XT20 raises the measure of sonic excellence that ADAT recorders have established since their introduction in 1991.

The XT20 improves upon the capabilities of earlier models of ADAT and other digital recording formats by recording eight tracks of true, linear 20-bit digital audio onto tape, without using external converters or multiplexers. No other modular digital multitrack recording format currently manufactured offers this capability. Rather than just a 25% increase, the jump from 16-bit to 20-bit recording provides audio quality that's sixteen times more detailed than the 16-bit sound of compact discs, resulting in a wider dynamic range, lower quantization distortion, higher headroom and lower noise.

Otari RADAR

Otari's RADAR has replaced analog multitracks in hundreds of commercial and private facilities worldwide. RADAR has become the benchmark of sonic excellence in hard disk recording. RADAR offers 24 simultaneous channels of 24 bit audio recording, removable media, a powerful dedicated control surface, and waveform display and editing.

RADAR II locks to all standard SMPTE/EBU timecode rates and formats, video composite (NTSC and PAL) and word clock. Sampling rate is variable between 32 and 48 kHz. Varispeed, MIDI I/O and RS-422 serial control are also standard, making interfacing RADAR II with existing studio equipment an easy operation.

Mackie HDR2496

The Mackie HDR2496 is a 24 track hardware recorder offering support for 2496 audio, removable and built-in media, optional SVGA monitor for waveform editing and mixing, and direct linking to the Mackie Digital 8-Bus mixer. The HDR2496 syncs to SMPTE, MIDI time code, word clock, black burst, NTSC, and PAL.

The HDR2496 offers sophisticated editing, 999 levels of undo, nondestructive editing, crossfades, and more. HDR2496 is software upgradeable.
