Hello and welcome to Linux! 
Hello all, Rip has asked me to be the host of the Linux audio discussion forum. So I thought I would introduce myself. I love prorec and I was part of the forum here before you had to register. I have worked in Pro audio and recording studios for years, and have also worked with Linux in post and audio production for about 8 years. I would love to help in anyway I can. Thanks!

I'm glad you're doing this. I goofed around with the old Corel Linux when it came out on a partition of my main computer at the time and had limited success with it. I'm not really a computer savy enough of a guy to dive in again at this point, but I'm glad to see this part of the forum. I'm looking forward to see how it goes and will eventually like to try to set up some kind of system to dip my feet in to the linux and the linux for audio waters.

I'm also quite glad to see linux discussed seriously. I have been using Ardour on Ubuntu for about a year (UbuntuStudio since it's release). I was a Slackware user for along time, but Ubuntu makes some things too easy.
