Bass Traps for small spaces.

Hey all, I found this link while reading an article over on Wired.  This is an electronic bass trap.  It's pretty expensive (1200) and requires professional installation to tune it to your room, but it is supposed to excel in small spaces where you don't have enough room to use passive treatments.  Check out this website if you are interested... : http://www.bagend.com/  If you know anyone using this, or if you end up trying it out...let us know how it works/sounds.

A link to the article or specific product would help the discussion

Re: Bass Traps for small spaces.

Unfortunately, that is the link.  The website only shows the main URL when navigating around the website.  If you click their products tab, you can find the link to the E-Trap on the end under professional acoustic.  The link to the article is here: http://feeds.wired.com/~r/wired/techheadlines/~3/184920635/tiny_studios  Please note that it does not contain a link either, just a reference to the company name.

the good folks over at WSDG (www.wsdg.com) have a word doc decribing how they used the eTrap to correct some bass issues at the producer couch in a newly designed room where the requirements for the listening position and product position were altered. it explains the process of using a pair of them to correct the bass response on the couch. like many things, its a tool, not a solution. a solution requires a number of things all working together to meet the requirements or solve the problem. in this case, its a nice addition to a small room where you need to make some adjustments which would be prohibitive in terms of size, aesthetics or otherwise not easily corrected by physical controls.
