FP10 or Saffire Pro 10 or... 

I'm shopping!  So much fun...

There are a few FirePods to be had for $400, and the identical FP10 is $500, go figure.  A visit to Presonus's forums reveals that the mixer app is very limited.

The Focusrite Pro 10 is supposed to have a very good mixer and is also $500.

Any opinions re how the pres compare on these two units?

Also kinda in the running is the Edirol FA-101, but barely.

I just nabbed a Presonus Firebox a few months ago, and was really impressed with the sound of the preamps considering it's price range. My guitar amp never sounded better.

Yes, the mixing is a bit limited on the Fire-Whatnots, as far as cue-mix-sends go, so consider how much monitoring you'll need to provide your artists/self with.

I got the Saffire last weekend.  So today there's an email from PreSonus for their new FireStudio Project, http://www.presonus.com/firestudio_project.html with an estimated street price of $500, too.  They'll have to drop the price on the FP10, I suspect.
