HOW TO: Upload Music / Images to ProRec
Modified By Rip Rowan on 4/3/2008 9:56:17 AM)

You can now use the editor to upload images and / or MP3s to ProRec.

A few housekeeping rules first:

  1. Don't upload an image that i already hosted elsewhere.  Use an image link instead.
  2. Don't upload anything copyrighted.  We'll just remove it.
  3. Nothing offensive: no racial imagery, hate music, pornography, etc.  You know better.
  4. Maximum width is 540 pixels, otherwise, you'll mess with the forum layout.  Please resize your images appropriately.

To add an image to your post

  1. Start by clicking the "Insert / Edit Image" button  on the toolbar.  (You can also "Insert / Edit Flash" to add Flash content using similar steps to the ones outlined below).  This will bring up the "Image Properties" dialog.
  2. If the image is already posted / hosted elsewhere, type or paste the URL to the image in the URL field, click in the Preview window to verify your URL, and skip to step 10.
  3. If you need to upload an image (or other file), use these steps:
  4. Click "Browse Server"
  5. Click on the "Public" folder
  6. If you plan on uploading a lot of images, you may want to create a folder for your content.  Use the "Create Folder" button for this.  Otherwise,
  7. Click the "Browse" button to browse your computer for the file you want to upload
  8. Click the "Upload New File" link to upload your file to ProRec.  If the file is large, it may take a while to upload.  BE PATIENT.
  9. Once the file is uploaded, you will be able to see it in the image browser.  Click it to select it.
  10. You can adjust the image properties (ie. alignment) using the controls provided.  You changes will appear in the Preview window.  When you are done, click OK.
  11. You can right-click an image in your post to return to the image properties for the image.

This is your forum.  Please use this feature wisely!
